The Walls

by Les Visible

/

about

"A song about one who took themselves too seriously and served as a karmic example for the rest of us-

THERE ARE MANY WHO HAVE DONE SO."

lyrics

The beds of the men that she barely knew
Went by like a tickle each time they blew
Through the walls around her

The push and the pull of the magic stick
That made her armor so wet and slick
Where the walls divide her

A stone that went skipping across the lake
It was all incidental to the give and the take
The walls inside her

The queen of the after thought
She was revealed in the things she sought
It was all shiny objects and loosening skin
On the way to forgetting the places she'd been
She was a part of her times and the face of her day
That waved from the ship as it all sailed away
And no one could tell her and she couldn't hear
As the walls came together my dear

She danced in the shadows and lost her way
Because of the things she never could say
For the walls had drowned her

She never recovered what never occurred
The lies in the sand that next tide obscured
And the walls made her suffer

The passing dream of a life like this
The taste of the moment that crucifies bliss
When the walls turn to water

She was the queen of the after thought
She was revealed in the things she sought
It was all shiny objects and loosening skin
On the way to forgetting the places she'd been
She was a part of her times and the face of her day
That waved from the ship as it all sailed away
And no one could tell her and she couldn't hear
As the walls came together my dear
The walls closed for ever I fear
And the meaning is no longer clear
And I am out of here
